Hi,

I found several 9.5" rectangular recessed light fixtures. You know, the old-fashioned looking ceiling lights.

The price is pretty low (on clearance) and it looks like they'd fit pretty well with the staple-up fiber ceiling tiles in our basement.

Besides the outdated look, are there any drawbacks to this kind of fixture? Do they put out a lot less light for the energy that the round recessed fixtures? Would it be a waste of effort?
