Pendant lighting over the sink is a great idea. This not only provides an excellent source of light but adds a decorative element to the room as well. There is a large selection of fixtures from traditional to contemporary and some outfits even offer a mix and match option for glass styles and frame colors.

You could do what we did and install dimmer switches in various places.(kitchen sink light included).Now we have control over how much lighting we want or deem necessary, lower our electric bills, and can keep hot light fixtures at bay.
