Kitchen Lighting Plan

After almost two years of do-it-yourself, on-again, off-again planning, our kitchen renovation project is about to kick off. Cabinets are on order, appliances are selected, contractor and installers are standing by... and I'm stuck at the lighting plan.

We have selected the LLF (Cree) LR6 (2700K) modules for the main work area task lighting, supplemented by (tentative choice) Juno Trac 12 low power LED lighting for under the cabinets. There is an island hood over the cooktop with 4 halogen lights, and there will be a couple of mini-cans and a pendant over the sink for accent lighting. Finally, there will be a couple of pendants (or fixtures) over the casual dining area.

My question: Do I have too many cans in the kitchen? I was thinking of splitting them on separate circuits, but figured by putting them on a dimmer, I would be able to achieve accent lighting with them as well.

Lightguy: I'm hoping you'll weigh in here, too - you seem to have the most experience with the LR6 modules.
