Bright ceiling bedroom light

Hi. I am searching for a bright light fixture to go on the ceiling of my son's bedroom. He currently has a 150watt halogen ceiling mount and it is not enough light. I already have a ceiling light so I would appreciate something that could replace the ceiling light (so I don't have to call an electrician). I am leaning towards LED lights but would consider other options. I found a couple of LED track lighting options at home depot but it appears that even though it has 4 lights, its only 200 lumens (4 watts) per light... which I understand is less than a 100 watt edison bulb. Not a huge fan of regular track lighting. I was leaning towards the LED track light because the fixtures are smaller. Are there any 200-300 watt (equivalent) light fixtures out there? Any suggestions? Thanks.

An NOT suggesting this style for your son's room.

However, note it has six (6) bulbs 60w each = 360w. Just put it in my dressing room, quite bright! (goal: be able to differentiate navy from black pants in the early AM.)

You may want to look for a fixture with multiple bulbs.

A 42 watt CFL will give off as much light as a 200 watt incandescent, and runs a lot cooler than that 150 watt halogen.

You must use smart bulbs for the bright ceiling bedroom light, these bulbs are pretty smart gadgets, it has having several technology like power conversation, voice recognization and SSR relay. You can set vocca to automatically switch on when you want to start the ceiling light. I think it would be the best option once try it you will definitely like this bulb and the features of bulb it is having.

Here is a link that might be useful: Vocca Light

I'd look at LED flush mount or semi flush mount fixtures. If you just want it fairly simple and clean with lots of light, I'd look at Lithonia LED fixtures at Home Depot (or wherever). I bought the little round 7 inch LED from Lithonia for our closets, and it puts out loads of nice light. I noticed they offer larger models with HUGE lumen output. They're pretty cheap and simple looking, but I don't think you'd want something sparkly or formal for a boy's room anyway.

24 watt = 1600 lumens here http://www.homedepot.com/p/Lithonia-Lighting-14-in-Round-Low-Profile-White-LED-Flush-Mount-FMLRL-14-840-M4/203628971

This is the one I have a bunch of for closets and utility areas that I love. It has 1/3 the lumens of the one I linked above, and it really seems like LOTS of nice light. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Lithonia-Lighting-Versi-Lite-1-Light-White-4000K-LED-Mini-Flush-Mount-FMML-7-840/203583417

What is the purpose of the light: general illumination, or does he need more light for, say, reading/studying?
