Adding a light kit to ceiling fan.

Are most ceiling fans able to accept another brand of light kit? I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan, but am looking at another light kit.

In my experience, those kits are usually interchangeable. But trying it is the only real test. The odds are in your favor.

You have to just try.

There is no real standard, and some use connectors that may not match another brand.

You can usually cut them off and use wire nuts though.
