kitchen flooring

I am at the pre-planning stage for kitchen and downstairs bathroom reno.I currently have sheet flooring on the kitchen floor, hallway and the bathroom off the hall. I loathe it - not sheet flooring per se, just THIS flooring. What is particularly galling is that I chose it myself, 9 years ago, after weeks of putzing with samples. It just always looks grubby, and did so from the day of installation.
However: I am too much of a klutz at the house is too cold to consider ceramic tile, cork looks weird against the wooden floor in the rest of the house - 6"wide old pine boards 2"thick as it is a 140 year old stone farmhouse, so I am probably looking at sheet flooring of some sort again.
Questions: 1:fiberfloor Acadia series - opinions on durability and cleanability? think dogs, farm dirt etc.
2: With sheet flooring are there alternatives to quarter round against the baseboard? That is another pet hate of mine.
Thanks in advance
