kitchen cabinets

Looking to renovate our kitchen but don't want to spend a fortune on cabinets. Saw some cabinets made by cuisimax. Anyone ever heard of them....I'm looking at the wood cabinets. Also can't decide between 30 or 36in gas range. Any suggestions. I enjoy cooking and having people over but don't want yo spend the money on Prof range.
And suggestions on cabinet manufactures and ranges would be appreciated.

Commented to bump you up some on the thread :)

Not sure about that brand of cabinets since I've never heard of them.

As for the gas range, I think it all depends on how many burners you need. If you have the space, I don't think there's a considerable amount of difference in cost, so I'd probably go with a 36". It truly depends on your family dynamics and lifestyle.

I considered cuisimax cabinets. I believe the are a Canadian company. They had a birch door that I Loved and did not see any birch doors from other manufacturers. They priced out a bit on the high side compared to other brands I considered (Brookhaven, Medallion, etc.). Their website and brochures at the time were inadequate. Ultimately, I eliminated this brand from my consideration because the retailer was too slow to get me information and pricing. I can't really tell you anything other than that.

As for the range, I went from a 30" to 36" and in terms of cooking space, I don't see a big improvement. Of course, I seldom have more than 3 pans on cooktop at once. The 36" seemed more appropriate in my newer kitchen which is why I changed to 36". Have you ever found yourself wishing you had another burner or could fit one more tray in the oven? If so, it's probably a worthwhile upgrade for you. I went with a Verona 36" because I got a floor model at a good price, but its nothing great.

    Good luck.

You need to narrow down the reasons that you are remodeling and what your goals are as well as your budget range. National averages in America tell us that an average kitchen remodel costs around 40K, with about half of that going to cabinets. People spend more and people spend less. That's just average. If you live in a 150K house in south Georgia, you'll spend less and if you live in an 800K house in Connecticut, you'll spend more.

Figure out why you're doing this, and who you are doing this for (your kids to work with you in the kitchen, for better resale in a years time, for your spouse), as that gives you a place to start.

For more info in choosing ranges, be sure to check the Appliances Forum. I'm assuming you have already considered induction and decided on gas.
