pinch - we got an lp tank and now are cooking with gas. we have the electrolux slide in and actually may not keep it - having problems with the LP conversion. We may end up with the electrolux freestanding because it comes factory ready for LP and hopefully won't give us the adjustment issues we are having now.

that being said, I TOTALLY understand where you are coming from as far as the electronics because I am old too! haha! Here's what I found when we were looking. you either have to go with a more inexpensive range, which I actually think is an excellent idea but DH is stubborn that way, or you have to go more high end to get away from all the electronics. We settled on the middle-end electrolux but it's got all the elctronics, which I'm actually finding pretty simple to use. My sister has a very, VERY nice home and she has a Hotpoint gas stove that works wonderfully!

oh, I know what you mean! I gave up my 1955 gas stove in the renovation and I'm having a hard time adjusting to the new one - too many electronics.

My brother had a hotpoint that he really liked as well.

squigs! That's one I was looking at. I printed off the possibles and found my pile getting taller. I remember that one though for its looks and its price! I had thought built in, too, but freestanding is so much easier. I'll go with that. I'll pull that sheet out of my possible pile. Thanks. I don't think I can make any more decisions and I haven't even started ripping out yet.

oh, I forgot to mention this: when the guy was out to work on my range, he did tell me that the more inexpensive, nonelectronic ranges convert to LP MUCH better. Another plus for the Hotpoint!
