See through fireplaces, fireplaces at eye level, some uses of stacked stone - things that go back to mid-century design and that are reappearing. Probably painted cabinets with wood cabinets. Cement counter tops and flooring may turn out to be trendy. Laminate flooring. The long kitchen cabinet handle, and vessel sinks may speak of this decade.

Things that will stand the test of time in my opinion are wood flooring (not that we have such great finishes and don't need to wax), granite and quartz, wood kitchen cabinets no matter what the finish. Marble is being used a lot, but I don't know how it will last because it is so porous.

I'd have to say the TV niche over the fireplace references what was thought to be a good idea at the time. The "smart" home is something I think we can expect to see more of as advances in technology are made. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out and how design responds to it.

Oil rubbed bronze is on its way out. Don't get stuck putting it into a new house.

My guess? Elaborately formal raised panel, painted and glazed kitchen cabinets with lots of goopy traditional details added at every turn. (Sorry, can you tell I don't like these designs?)
