Two 9" Spice Pullouts in base cabinet or two 30-36"drawers for spices?
Comments (1)What did you decide? I’m wondering the same thing....See MorePOLL: Spice rack vs. Spice drawer
Comments (135)Husband built me a 6 foot x 3 foot rack on wheels that is between my frig and counter. I also use a 1/2 cabinet shelf for bulk. Absolutely love it. When we moved in and I had nowhere to put spices that stopped me cold from setting up the kitchen. He bopped downstairs and knocked it out. We are redoing the kitchen now and he's building one to match....See MoreNeed help w kitchen cabinets- most useful drawer sizes? 12" spice rac
Comments (4)I have a 12" drawer bank and a 12" cabinet in my kitchen currently and I can tell you, as such, they are to narrow to be really useful. So if you have 12" to fill, it could be open, to stand up trays, cutting boards etc as you mentioned. The other side could be a 12" vertical pullout knowing it will only have about 10" width of storage space. I just measured two Costco bottles of oil and vinegar and side by side they are 6". So still generous (maybe a little wide for that purpose even). Have a look at what you have to store in there, that may help. If you don't care if it's perfectly symmetrical you could try 30" drawer bank + 12" vertical tray storage on one side and two 21" drawer banks on the other side with no pullout. Also, I just discovered this AMAZING website for playing around with layouts. www.floorplanner.com . We're redoing our kitchen and are in the planning stages. It's been invaluable as I'm a very visual person. I can create 3D models and turn them around to view from any angle....See MorePOLL: Would you want a spice pantry or drawer?
Comments (17)well i don't want any of it next to my cooker, but my biggest 2 problems are a) I cook with many more than that and b) my herb and spice shop uses plastic containers not tin or bottles and once you have had theirs you never want to go back. And before anyone thinks of it, it takes 4-5 jars on average to hold $1 or less of their herbs and spices and the bottles don't even begin to have the variety. Yummy!...See Moremomof3kids_pa
