That looks like a load bearing wall. Do you know if it can come down? Could always try beams and columns but you'll probably want/need a structural engineer/architect if that is required.

Counter depth looks too off in the blind corner-- 24" is standard (plus typically 1.5 for counter edge)

You have pretty well seperated prep, cook and wash up zones but you might want to consider swapping the fridge and the sink/dw if moving the plumbing isn't too costly. Would put the fridge closer to the family room allowing drinks/snacks without interrupting the cooking zone. You might also consider moving the trash or adding trash under the sink base (accomplished with an offset drain and pull out if the base cab is large enough). Hard to tell if you plan to have pantry storage anywhere or not. Island seems really long you might want to tuck a beverage fridge on the end if you don't want to move the fridge and provide easy access from the family room and dining area.

I think you are going to hear that putting this on graph paper with some measurements would be helpful. Think I might want to move that fridge where the DW for the reason stated above, plus then you wouldn't be interrupting your counter run.

Thanks for the input. My concern about swapping the sink/DW and the fridge is that the sink/DW would be in the way of the cooking zone - if someone is doing dishes, they would be in the way of the refrigerator going to the sink or the stove. I guess it we can move the stove, that would be ideal.

We don't know yet if the wall can come down - will determine whether we need beams and columns, a wall or nothing.

Good point that the island might be too long - maybe we should cut it down a bit. Pantry is a separate room on the upper left. Beverage fridge is a good idea.
