I like the light fixture a lot and I think it would go well with your decor. It does not look "bedroomy" at all....I am not a decorator but the style seems more craftsman tho than schoolhouse...Schoolhouseelectric.com has some amazing lights. I found some on lightingdirect and even lowes & homedepot...lookalikes...when we were building our house. I love those lights!

Craftsman style would work. As I said, I love the school house lights, but most aren't enough wattage. Our house is very modest and the kitchen is small and there are no pot lights or under cabinet lighting, so this really is the main illumination at night. It's described as modern/contemporary, so I didn't want to be totally off.

How'd you do that? Do you really like it? I'm ready to part with my shiney brass fixtures, but can't very well change 35 years of accumulated antiques and accessories. Trying to make my old stuff work with a few updates. Also working with an 8ft ceiling height.

It really has that antique/vintage vibe but yet looks current. Yes, I really like it!

I do like that fixture but if you really want a schoolhouse fixture, Rejuvenation has them with that large a wattage and more and you can customize finish, globe, bulb type, etc.

Yes - their lights are great but probably more than I'd feel comfortable spending. Thanks!
