That looks like a honed black granite, or possibly slate. Typically available from stone fabricators generally speaking.

In my opinion the Richlite countertops do not stand up to family use---especially near the sink. We have had ours---a matte green which I love for 8 years now----the area around the sink immediately discolored--who keeps their sink 100% dry with 4 kids??? No product they ever suggested has helped. I'm disappointed----and about to replace the large slab in my sink area. Folks should know that they are NOT low-maintenance, scratch fairly easily and change color over time--(i.e. different colors if you have applicances on your counter in the same place for awhile---that area will be lighter). I have used a sander to take out minor scratches and then re-finished them with a non-toxic product. I would never use them near a sink again----it was an expensive 'green' choice which did not stand the test of time.
