Yellow kitchens

I'd like to paint my kitchen a BM yellow color. The kitchen has all white cabinets, medium gray countertops and white tile floors (pretty much a blank slate). I am planning on painting the connecting foyer Shaker Beige. The eat-in kitchen is open to the family room. I am thinking of painting the FR a shade of blue...perhaps BM Santorini Blue, Wedgewood Blue or Woodlawn Blue. I have chocolate brown couch/loveseat and cherry coffee/end tables. I will decide the blue paint once I purchase a few blue and brown accent pillows.

So, what do you think of these ideas? Does anyone have some BM yellow paint colors for the kitchen? If you have pics that would be even more helpful and of course, appreciated!!

We have BM Pernod (a pale yellow in our kichen.) The adjoining Family room is BM Blanched almond and the DR is BM Raspberry Truffle below the chair rail, with BM Bronzed gold above.

Your color scheme sounds like it would work out great. Here's a yellow to consider:

Here is a picture of BM Lighthouse:

I found that yellow is a very difficult color to choose. Lighthouse was a nice true butter yellow that isn't too loud (BM Melow Yellow=too loud). Painted the dining room BM Powell Buff which is a subdued cream/gold.

    Hopefully his helps you out.

I'm sure everyone is sick of seeing this by now, but here is BM America's Heartland.

My kitchen walls are BM Dorset Gold and adjoining rooms are BM Philadelphia creme. The bathroom in the rear is BM Autumn Cover. Trim is BM White Dove. The kitchen color sings and makes me very happy.

Monroe Bisque is in my all white kitchen, and throughout the main floor.

Here it is in the foyer.

and in the kitchen near the basement steps.

Thanks for some great suggestions! I am really likeing America's Heartland and I think there is enough of a contrast with the Shaker Beige. Homemaker, I was all set to use Monroe Bisque in my kitchen (I love this color), but I think it is too close to Shaker Beige. I still may use it if I can find another foyer/hall color I like as much as the Shaker Beige.

Thank you all for great photos...it's a big help. Anyone else have some pics of your yellow's for me?

I have Olympic Belgian Waffle in my sunroom, adjacent to the kitchen. It is made up in BM matte. I also have it in the foyer and above the rail in the LR. The colors below in the LR are on the same strip.

Trailrunner.....what's the color in the room beyond the foyer? On my monitor, it looks a little purple (which I love!).
    Thanks!

We have similar colors in our kitchen: white cabinets and counters, gray tile floor, black appliances. We've got wallpaper in the kitchen that looks like sponged paint, and the adjoining den is painted a matching color, Benjamin Moore's mellow yellow. The woodwork in the den is painted one shade lighter, moonlight. They've been up about six years now and I haven't tired of them, except for a wallpaper border at the ceiling line in the kitchen. I'd take it down, except I suspect it would leave a line.

My favorite BM yellow is Straw. In our house I have it paired w/ Filtered Sunlight trim and Vanilla Ice Cream, none of which are a stark white so it all looks very subdued and warm. To the point that DS (4yrs old then) commented on how cozy it was when it was temporarily his bedroom.

Hi Tracey, it is actually Belgian Chocolate, also from the Olympic color charts. My BIL was here last week and he said the same thing...in a certain light LOL. I really like the Olympic color booklets as they have them arranged by families. It really made it easy for me to pic colors since I had art and rugs that were in a certain family and when I brought home the color booklet I just picked the obvious ones. It was really nice . Here are 2 more pics of the color. This is our morning room and has 4 - 6ft x 3ft windows so it is VERY light.

It's not BM, but I used SW Optimistic Yellow in my kitchen and beyond . . . I've posted the picture so many times I'm embarrassed to do it again, so I gave you a link . . . it's about halfway down the thread.

I loved it and will use it again in a couple places in the new house. Laundry room for sure!
