Kitchen Design

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this site and have gained a lot of insight from reading posts about kitchen design. I am redoing my kitchen and am meeting with the KC on Tues evening to discuss and measure for the final design. I am going with Dura Supreme cabinets, I just haven't decided between frameless or full overlay. I lean toward contemporary/with a hint of transitional. I am using a shaker style door with a 2 and 3/8 stile in harvest cherry (more teaky brown than red), and will go with black uba tuba granite (black with thin squiqqles of brown). I don't have soffits, the cabinets will go to the ceiling. I'll use either a very small straight ceiling molding or something with a slight angled design. Also, appliances will be stainless, and I'll have some variation of a 6" tile backsplash in cream with colored glass tile inserts of purple, silver, taupe, or some combination thereof.

My question is, for those of you who did full overlay cabinets and a similar design to mine, did the room end up looking more traditional or did it have a contemporary feel? And yes, I'll be using contemp/transitional brushed nickel/stainless curved or straight handles. Waiting for all your advice!!!!
