Passion

Welcome to Jennharp!

I noticed she asked in the let's get to know each other thread to tell her about our passions. I thought it was a great idea and I started a thread on that. I hope it's ok that I stole her idea/Question!

What is your passion?

Mine? Being a mother. Being a good Councilor- but that will end in 18 months and I won't have to be a good government official. Learning.

Definitely being a mother. Although my children aren't children anymore, my passion for them (and my granddaughter) hasn't abated one iota.

Other passions are my animals, writing, and music. And my commitment to GETTING THIS HOUSE IN LOVELY, CIVILIZED ORDER so it doesn't become a problem for my children.

    sleeping.
singing alto in my little church choir (so little that almost all the time, I'm the only alto! which is easier than being the only strong alto)

My passions: knitting, dance rollerskating, photography, gardening, and pampering my little kitty girly-girl. I also like, when I get the chance, to be with my stepgranddaughter a whole lot.

Breathing while I'm sleeping is right up there with me, too, as I recently discovered I have sleep apnea. As somebody told me recently: "Breathing is a highly underrated phenomenon."

Talley Sue, kudos to you for holding the alto line all by yourself. You must be very musical.

Wendy, where do you dance rollerskate? I'd love to be able to do that. I hung out in a roller rink every Saturday as a teenager. It was like floating.

Re sleep apnea, it's nothing to fool around with. A strain on the heart, among other things. I had it years ago, but it disappeared when I lost weight.

Susan, we take lessons at a rink in West Windsor (NY) and often go skating in Oneonta, too (or anywhere else we might find). You are right, it is like floating, especially while waltzing. I enjoy it even more, now that I've worked on my balance and turns and all.
That is good that you shook the apnea when you lost weight. So far I lost five or six pounds - it's hard getting rid of body "baggage", just like it's hard to give up some junk, but it feels great when you do it. Hopefully I will be able to get rid of most of the excess pounds this coming year.

Singing - I'm a mezzo soprano, and love singing in a good chorus or at a wedding. I especially enjoy singing in an opera.

Gardening - Until I fell ill, I used to spend all day gardening, and the neighbors would laughingly call out their windows at night that I should go inside and rest. I'm not really interested in growing particular plants; what I enjoy is what I call painting with flowers. I made a brick patio and brick edging for my gardens.

Jungian psychology and personality type, especially the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

I have a passion for creating community. I'm good at seeing what people are like at their essence, along with their strengths and weaknesses, and at helping people to connect with one another.

And, like most of us, I'm passionate about my family.

    Neat thread ~
    I'm way behind though lol
I'll have to start hanging out here more and getting my money's worth! (I already have actually)

passion 1)intense emotion: anger; rage; ardent love; zeal; enthusiam.

I'll reply to the anger/rage meaning first...when people are uncaring or unkind to one another on a day to day basis.

To the ardent love meaning...my granddaughter.
