Paint! I haz it!

My SO has been in the house, painting all the brand new plaster.

Woodwork still needs painting - it will be semigloss, same yellow. Eventually it will be covered with craftsman style wood trim, but not for quite a while.

That's 2 coats of white primer and one coat of pale yellow on the walls, 1 coat of primer and a very pale blue on the ceiling. New plaster soaks up paint like a sponge ...

Isn't that just the MOST wonderful feeling in the world? I know the paint/plaster routine well, fortunately. Lots of plaster left in the current old house and my last old house was totally plaster and I was fortunate enough to find a 'real' plasterer to do repairs. I also own a townhouse with plaster walls. I try to tell people who think about ripping them down to think twice. Lovely rooms. Just lovely.
