Extra high bed tables

I have one of those high beds that you need a stool to get into. I've had a difficult time finding bed side tables a little taller than the bed. I'm looking for tables between 38-40" tall. They don't had to be large tables...just something to house a clock, glass of water, and 2 phones (business & home).

Any one know where I can find them? I've searched the Internet. Just looking for cheap ones to get me by until I remodel the bedroom which won't happening for quite a while yet, as we continue to work on other rooms.

Thanks.

Have you looked at bar tables?

Yes. They all look like they belong in a kitchen and the dimension in terms of width are too large. They just don't seem to work in my space. Thanks though.

I am hoping to find something that has a drawer, but it's not a deal breaker.

What width and depth do you need? Plant stands and candle stands often are the height you want, but generally they're not that large.

Can you find a tall round bistro table? That wouldn't be too wide, but I'm not sure they make them that tall.

Instead of searching for tables, try searching for chests. How wide and deep would you like the top to be? Is your style contemporary? Transitional? Traditional? Oriental? Other?

Vintage sheet music cabinets also tall, but fairly compact.

Wow......I couldn't log in fast enough to answer this question. I saw this last month at a bed and breakfast. They too had a very high bed.....but boy did that bed look comfy. They used book cases that were for normal sized books. By that I mean they weren't deep cases. It looked so beautiful and just right. In fact, it wasn't until I had time to really look over the whole room and all the trimmings that I realized they were book cases/shelves. They were both slightly different but complimentary to the whole room.

Thanks all. Unfortunately book cases, even small ones, wouldn't work since I have just a path on one side of the bed and a window on the other side approx. 2 feet from the headboard on the same wall. Then my treadmill takes up the rest of the space on that wall. Not really any other way to position things in there. Space is tight.

I'm looking for something that's 18" x 18" (give or take) with the tall height. Certainly not easy to find.

Maybe I should have them built.

No drawer, but it meets your size requirements.

    Hi,

I too have one of those high beds but I find the normal nightstand height more comfortable for reaching items. Wondering why you want it higher than the mattress which it seems it might be?

If you like it level or higher, AND don't wish to spend much since it's a bit temporary, I'd consider buying a cheap decorator table in the 18" diameter size. You could simply set it on a wood base to raise it higher then make a skirt out of a king size sheet....I think you need king, maybe I've used a queen? Super easy to do and very little $$. It's also a great look with more traditional furn and gives you tons of storage underneath.

Another thought is to consider constructing your own custom size shelf and simply anchoring it to the wall at whatever height you want. You could buy something and make it larger with another top in wood or glass, paint it, use corbels if you like that look, skirt it ....no ends to the options. A cheap plywood round from a hardware store could be cut in half to give you 2 half moon shelves that could also be skirted around the sides. I don't know if you sew but you don't need to to construct a table skirt....lots of iron on products out there that can be used to hem. A custom glass top is extremely cheap to have cut.

Here's a wall shelf with a drawer but I'm not sure for what you need right now that I'd even spend this amount of money...too many ways to get a better look with very little $$.

Sorry, that link was wrong. Correct one is below.

Re: the decorator table...I'm speaking of the cheapy particle board ones. The 18" ones normally have 3 legs. You can usually find them at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Walmart "etc". Shouldn't have to spend more than $15-20. They also sell the glass tops.
