    jmo, but i agree that it's a little dull. also, i think your granite looks nice. i hope you are pleased with it!!!!!!!! i haven't thought about what combination you could use, but i love rhome410's backsplash. it is a mix....some spots are slate subway tile and some areas are mosaics. to me, that is a standout!!!! maybe you could play around with an idea like that bring something unique to your backsplash......

    Here's a sample of a backsplash DIL put in her home. This pic was a test run to see how we wanted to do the border. May be some colors you can use. BTW......the brass knobs are gone!

    I agree with gglks........what you show doesn't quite have the wow factor.

    Have you looked through the finished backsplash slideshow? It will either give you inspiration or overwhelm you with choices.

    I'm struggling with my own backsplash choice right now too. I think I've narrowed it down to either ceramic or glass. Those seem to be the one I like the best. Is there a particular material you are drawn to?

    Is there a particular color you want to bring out in your granite? Something you'd like to downplay?

    The granite is lovely. I would like something with a little splash of wine to go with your cabinets, since granite (and I think floor if last pic is the tile choice) are so neutral. I like your pulls too. Good choices!

    We are going to find you a backsplash you absolutely love. The granite is pretty and understated. It will allow y
    ou to do a killer backsplash. Here's one idea I found. A field tile in a color like this:
    {{!gwi}}
    Or this:{{!gwi}}

    Create an overall inset (maybe 3" high) with something like this:
    {{!gwi}}
    Or if you prefer glass like this:
    {{!gwi}}

    Then create use a liner to create a border over your stove and use the inset tile in there.
    The overall look would be something like this but without the textured tiles:
    {{!gwi}}
    This is just one idea I grabbed from Jeffrey Court.

    His Fire and Ice would also look fabulous! If you do a search you'll see a few members who used it. Let us know what you think about the ideas. It will help guide us in finding you other selections.

    remodelfla, i like the idea with the insets. i'd like to bring in the colors of cream (the floor). i'd like accents of burgundy (from the cabinets- i LOVE burgundy!, greys and beiges (from the granite). green (because both adjacent rooms have some green.

    too many different colors you think? i'm not one for too much of a crazy backsplash. i think i am crazy or at least going crazy!

    stephanielynn-i think the granite colors are very subdued and i want to brighten the kitchen up. love the idea of burgundy accents. i like the glass tiles - i just don't think i'd want the whole backsplash in glass.

    Something more like this? This is from Somoma Tilemakers

    Here is just the blend:

    Or a simple creamy crackle... they come in all sizes

    They also have the gorgeous Tantrum crushed glass look tiles that come in variety of colorsa and sizes as well

    Ohh that first mix is all the colors. I like it but we'd of course have to see it against the granite.
