I have one and like it very much. However, the ice maker has been giving us trouble lately, the Hubs blew the hairdryer on it and that helped some, but it seems that he needs to do it again. We aren't calling for service just yet, I think it's fixable. Love- the size, it keeps things pretty cold, like the layout and that biiiig drawer on the bottom of the fridge for cold cuts and yogurt. It's big, did I mention that I like that? I keep a lot of fresh veg around and usually don't run out of room. :-)

You might get a better response over on the appliances forum. In years past, E'lux fridges didn't get a lot of love and had some problems. I like them so I decided to take a chance and get one anyhow. I've had it for about a year and a half.

I would highly recommend the elux french door fridge but would not recommend the ice through the door.
We love our elux and it has saved us a lot of $$ with keeping food fresh.
We bought the one with the LED lights and it is so much fun to open (and a challenge not to open) and see the lights come on.
We have the perfect temp drawer and I usually keep around 33 degrees unless I in defrost mode or serving ice cream!
The ice through the door just took up too much space in the fridge and when I want ice, I want lots of it and not just a few cubes. (Think sports injuries!)
I read that the ice through the door model has more problems. This was a big adjustment for us - fortunately, in the winter, our water comes into the house at 37 degrees, so only the summer is too warm - so I store water in a 2 gallon glass milk jug for the summer.
Go for it!

We've had ours for 2 1/2 years - really like it - no problems. Plenty of room. We have the ice maker/ water in the door which is a bit noisey, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be (our first with through the door water/ice). We use it a lot - 2 of us no kids.

We have one, a french door, counter depth, no ice or water in the door. We have only been using it for about a year and it's been just fine. Most of the complaints in the Appliance Forum seemed to be about the ice and water in the door.

Thanks. As I won't be getting the one with the ice in the door, everything else sounds really good--I will be getting the counter depth one as well.

You will be happy with your decision. I took my favorite platters to the appliance store as I was tired of the side by side not holding anything.
I went down the line.
No, No, No, No, No, No, No, Yes - then I looked at the price and went no - but Elux was having a rebate and I said YES.
I have saved at least the extra amount in reduced food
waste. When my father passed away, I took off quickly and forgot to empty the fridge. 2 weeks later, I returned and the milk and lettuce were perfect!!!
I am sure some of the higher end ones are as good or better, but no complaints from this end.
Go for the perfect temp drawer - it is awesome. I use it to defrost meats, bring ice cream to serving temp and just store general items - I usually run it around 33 degrees, so most items keep for a long time. I adjust for fresh meats, ice cream, defrost, etc. It is so much fun.
Also - I went for the LED lights and it is so much fun to open the fridge - I have to resist temptation.
I hope your elux works as well as mine!

I already packed up my manuals for our remodel.
It was not a custom order - standard model but was not in stock, so had to wait about a week or so for delivery.
The label inside of the door says JBCD-23 and Model EI23BC51ISZ
It is a 23 cubic foot (was not an icon) and we purchased about 1.5 or was it 2.5 years ago.
Maybe Chris (the elux rep who is monitoring the site) can help you with current models.

we bought a electrolux french door for the house we sold. Loved it so much bought the same exact one for our new/remodeled house! If you see it on sale at lowes you can buy it online use the post office 10% lowes movers coupon and 5% off by using your lowes card. this is how we purchased all of our appliances!

My Electrolux through the door ice maker stopped making ice. After the usual troubleshooting I had an Electrolux authorized service contractor examine the unit. The next day the contractor called and said that it would require over $300 in parts plus labor but they would not do the job because of possibly damaging the freon lines. Now I have a $3000+ refrigerator without an ice maker. Does anyone have a suggestion? This must be a design flaw because it should be repairable.
