Question about the bar top

Love this bar top! Is there glass laid over the entire top to cover the onyx set into the wood trim?

    Would onyx work as a cabinet door with lighting inside the cabinet? how thin does the onyx need to be to filter light?

    I have backlit onyx cabinet doors in the past. This can be achieved on of two ways.

    1- place an LED fixture inside the cabinet firing into the back of the stone

    or

    2- mount a thin planar LED panel to the back of the stone door

    i recall one project the weight of the stone doors were an issue making use of the lighter weight products like www.stoneveneerusa.com products is the likely the best route
