Sure, you can wash them. How well the walls will clean up depends on how washable the paint actually is and what you are trying to wash off. Lower quality paints will not wash as well as high quality ones. If the paint is flat, you should expect almost no washability, though some high quality flats can still be cleaned to some degree. The only problem with that is that it may leave burnish or dull marks everywhere. I usually will just use a sponge with water or a very mild cleaner like Windex or something.

Oh my goodness.............repaint! It's fun, you can tweak the color, and then go buy new throw pillows.

I agree with the above post...wall washing can be pretty labor-intensive, and unless new paint is not in your budget, it's more fun and just about as easy.

Lowes in my area is discontinuing it's Ralph Lauren Paints..so they have them discounted to $13 a gallon for matte and $15 for semi gloss. My particular store ONLY had the deep tints left, so I had to choose darker colors, but your's might have more selection..Cant hardly beat that with a stick! And I'd imagine to clean the walls, you'd about be putting the same motion/energy towards the wall, so instead of a sponge put a paint roller in your hand :)

Thanks everyone for your help. I had to patch some holes left by pictures that were taken down. Those parts of the wall now have a dull finish...unless there is an easier way to fix it ??? looks like I will be painting again. How easy is it to try and just paint/blend those areas into the existing paint?
