Solid Border on Print Panels OK w/ Solid Duvet ?

Hello Everyone!

Been so busy painting the vanity/medicine cabinet that will go in our M. Bathroom redo that I haven't had a chance to really focus on the overall bedroom/bathroom color combos.

While I'm waiting for the second coat of paint to dry on the vanity, I pulled out my fabrics for the M. Bedroom.

Talk about second-guessing myself!

Several months ago I asked about using a contrasting solid panel of fabric to band my drapery panels since I didn't have enough of the original drapery panel fabric.

Les917 suggested trying to match up the Teal in the original fabric.

Perfect idea, in theory.

I looked, searched, browsed and traveled to find as close a match to the Teal as possible.

Turned out (as someone IRL pointed out to me) the color I was searching for wasn't Teal, it's a very odd color of blue (No wonder I could never match it!) and I wasn't able to find any solid even close.

So I went back to square one, searching for any of the colors in the original fabric to use as a band/border.

I came up with two perfect matches --- the Rust and the Brown.

Both samples are perfect matches to the original drapery panel fabric.

Now, my problem.

I'm from the old school (read: I'm old! lol) and I've always had (and my mother had, and her mother before her had) Draperies that matched the Bedspread.

Going with print drapery panels with solid color banding and a solid bed cover is soooo not like me but I am due for a major change and I need to break the chain. lol

So I ordered a Medium Brown, microsuede duvet (I'll make the tailored bed skirt from the same fabric) and I'm hoping with the print panels it will look OK?

Anyone Not match their bedding to their drapery panels and have pictures they can post?

I loved the Bedroom pics in the Gallery and I got lots of inspiration for accent colors/furniture placement/focal points, but most of the rooms were very elegant, which, unfortunately I can't have because of living conditions/dog-cats-parrot/babies/etc.

I can see not matching if it's silk or beautifully rich Jacquard or brocade but I've got all wash 'n wear fabrics for my room and seeing them together on my bed, I'm really second-guessing myself and my plan.

Hey, I never, ever said I could decorate or match fabrics, now did I? lol

I just think I need reassurance that solid and busy print will be OK. Or, will it?

Print Fabric on Right will be Panels with either Brown or Rust band/border.

Not the exact bedding but colors are pretty exact.
