Sounds like you need to decide on something new to collect! :)

For right now you could stack nice hardback books on the side table shelves. Do you have any oversized coffee table type books? Art, gardening, atlas, etc. are all good. Or even a few current magazines. Note that I said "current", not a staggering stack of years worth (like I have!)

Does the hutch have plate rails at the back? So you want something new to take the place of your current presentation ones? How about changing out to trays or platters? How about exchanging out the country plates for newer ones in a solid color? Then you can take your time to collect something else to accent the solid ones. The solid color ones can be mingled w/ anything. White or cream would be perfect for this. It would be so easy to find platters, plates and pitchers in one of these shades. They could match or it could be a collection of one color but different textures.

No need to shop until you are exhaused trying to fill all the spaces now. Take your time to figure out what you really want. Don't forget to check out thrift and antique stores for interesting items. New doesn't always mean better or nicer or cheaper!
