Our plastic shutters have started to peel and need to be painted. My plan was to scrap the old paint off but I'm not sure what to do after that. Is there special paint for plastic? I purchased some black enamel paint(that is glossy). I can return it if there's something better. Also, do I need to prime before I paint? I'll be honest, when I paint inside, I have never primed before. I'm just not sure how important it is? I have heard even with primer the paint on the plastic will peel? Any advice is appreacited. The guy at home depot couldn't really offer any when I stopped in.
