I want to say I've paid somewhere between $15 and $20 each, in the DC area. It's all a big blur at this point. I'm using water based paints, all of which recommended synthetic bristle brushes. So I've been buying the Corona Cortez and Tacoma models, both of which have "tapered DuPont Tynex Nylon and Orel Polyester Blend." I understood the "nylon" and "polyester" parts, recognized them as synthetic, confirmed with my paint store dude (who's a member of the family now) and purchased. They've been wonderful.

They also make natural bristle brushes, for use with oil paints and whatever else.

Good luck!

Hi faron,

I use the Cortez angle sash and the Tacoma flat sash in sizes 1 1/2" to 2".

The fine flagged tips is why the Corona puts down such a smooth, even spread of paint film. It holds more paint! I've used many other brushes and have others in my shop, but I always reach for the Corona when I want to achieve the highest quality finish. Corona brushes have the sharpest cutting edge in the industry.

I use a Chinex brush for Waterborne Paints and Ceramic paints. Chinex is available from most suppliers but I use the one by Elder & Jenks, GenX brush.

Price. I always purchased the cartons of 6 and got a very good price which wouldn't be fair to advertise since I was buying wholesale.

Should I be using a chinex brush to put on my trim paint, I am using Sherwin William ProClassic SemiGloss, which advertises as a waterborne paint?

Yes,

Pro Classic is a heavy-bodied waterborne and will lay on well with a Chinex brush.

hey michael: I've been using the 2 1/2 inch. While I am getting really good at cutting in with it, and remarkably good since I switched from Wooster to Corona, should I be using a smaller brush? Will that make me even better? I still have the highly visible foyer/hallway/living/dining room to do, so if I can improve even further, it's well worth it. And with all the doorways and windows in those two rooms, I've got alot of cutting in to do.

Thanks!
Ivette
