Iverhart uses the same chemicals as Heartguard...

according to the website it kills tape worms, which non of the other heartworm treatments do. Just trying to find out if this is correct or not.

It does have a medicine for tapeworms in it as well, and it does a good job of eliminating them with 2 treatments. However, tapeworms are caused by fleas, so using good flea control is often all that is needed. I have a lot of clients who adopt strays and they often have tapeworms, so I usually prescribe Iverhart Max for the first 6 months and get the dogs on good flea control. Some people choose to stay on Iverhart Max and others switch to Iverhart Plus, which does not have the tapeworm medicine in it, but does a good job against other intestinal parasites.
