I have been a lurker on GW for a couple of months. I have learned so much and am so thankful for all the awesome, knowledgeable people here!

We are finally into our design phase and would love some feedback. We are planning a total kitchen demo. Removing a load-bearing wall in between the kitchen and dining room to open up the first floor and expand the kitchen. We are also reducing the size of our powder room and taking out a closet to make a mudroom/laundry. We are a family of four (two young kids and a big dog). we spend a lot of time cooking, and love to entertain.

any thoughts on our design would be very much appreciated. We are particularly stuck on the matching cabinets/buffets next to the table. our designers have made it an 18-inch deep counter/cabinets. would you keep that or go with standard cabinet depth?

I only posted a portion of the design (kitchen/dining area) because the plans have small print and hard to see if I include the rest. hopefully you can get the general idea. the southernmost part of the design opens up into a formal-ish living room and the entry into our house.
