Ramps

My friends dog is getting old and my friend is of very small stature. She is in the market for a ramp for her dogs to get into the back of her full sized pickup truck. She was looking at the telescoping ramps not so much the folding ones. We are looking for as much personal account of use of either type of ramp why you liked it or not ad what about it did you like. Dogs are under 100 pounds Thanks

Honestly for the amount of money they cost - if she knows anyone with any amount of handy man skills, she could have someone make her one for a fraction of the cost.

That's what we're going soon for our big guy, as he fell trying to get in the truck the other day - poor guy ended up on his back in the gutter :(.

We've looked at the ramps, and building them is much more cost efficient.

We have the Pet Step, which is a folding ramp. It was easy for our old Lab to use, but it is a little heavy (18 lbs.) and pricey ($129). It has made a world of difference though, as our dog couldn't possibly get in and out of the car on her own and she was too heavy to lift.

I'd try finding a used one....try Craig's List or EBay.
