Another cat dumped here

Makes me so angry. This little cat (must be about 12 weeks old) has obviously been loved because she is very friendly to both us and the 'very rambunctious' dog. She is very unlike the litter of kittens we ended up with three years ago --- they were of a feral mom and it took a long time to get them used to us.

She was starving and didn't know what to do with dry food. She is eating now and one of my other cats is fine with her so at least she has somebody in her corner. Now, of course we will have to have her spayed and the family that dumped her will just assume she is cared for. What if she wasn't? How do people justify being so irresponsible?

Unwanted litters is what happens when people do not get their pets fixed. The irresponsible owners then have pets they never wanted and have nowhere to take the unwanted animals because Rescues and shelters are full.

So nice of you, Carmen, to offer food and a possible home for the poor thing...but I know what you mean about irresponsible people!
I once had a kitten left in my yard with a little dish of milk, right at the edge of my yard near the road. The kitten was lucky I heard it cry , while in the house - my husband thought I was hearing things - and was able to get him before he got run over...

To so many people, pets are disposable...nothing more than a possession that can be discarded whenever it is a matter of convenience

This is the end result of people breeding animals that they shouldn't be breeding. While it's lovely that you're taking care of the cat, please take it as an object lesson.

We live close to a busy road with lots of fields and undeveloped areas and people dump strays all the time. First of all it is a terrible thing to do to the animals, and second, it is a terrible thing to do to those of us who have to deal with the problem.

Hubby and I have 11 cats and 2 dogs, we cannot afford to take in any more. So our choices are to turn a blind eye, hope one of the neighbors will do something, or take them to animal control where they are gassed to death after 48 hours. I HATE and despise anyone who thinks it's okay to dump their animals. People like that are lower than pond scum.

Bless you, Carmen, & all the rest of you who've taken in these littlest & most vulnerable critters.

One of my friends looked me in the eye the other day & said, in her perfectly modulated, soft, ladylike voice, "Sylvia, the more I learn about people, the more I realize they just aren't worth the powder it would take to blow 'em all to he!!"
