Armstrong Cabinets?

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I have enjoyed reading several posts and most of all seeing all of the beautiful kitchen pictures! I have been thinking about remodeling my kitchen for two years now. It's rather a small space, approximately 10 x 10 u-shaped kitchen.

I was set to go with Rambo cabinets, semi-custom out of Oklahoma when the economy got bad and I unfortunately lost my job. So, I have been looking at scaling back and found a decent quote on kitchen cabinets from Armstrong. I can get the look I'm going for with the Waverly all wood crème-colored door, Blum self-close drawers, full overlay, and full extension glides, all plywood boxes for almost half the cost of the Rambo semi-custom cabinets.

These cabinets score very high with customer satisfaction according to J D Power and Associates. I live in the San Francisco Bay area (south bay - Los Gatos) and was wondering if anyone has used these cabinets in their kitchen remodel and how they have held up.

Some of the differences between these two manufacturers:

Rambo:

Has Alder wood underneath and is lightly distressed

Has a drum door for the corner lazy Susan, which is very nice

Cabinets facing the dining room space would be in a custom color

Armstrong:

Westchester door.

Has a maple wood underneath.

No distressing.

Has regular full overlay doors on the bottom cabinets instead of being inset.

I am seriously considering the Armstrong cabinets, they are about 1/2 the price of the Rambo cabinets.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Karen
