Comfortis

I had heard of the "amazing flea pill" but we had our flea problem under control until a FLEA MOTEL moved in next door. My Pit was infested all 55 lbs of her. The water from her bath looked like the red clay from East Texas when it rains. This was in early February her regular scheduled Vet visit was then. We were also lucky enough to inherited a new puppy a small poodle mix so like any good parent she went to the Vet visit also. The Vet examined both and offered that silly stuff to put on CoronaÂs back or the flea pill, I was in for the pill. Poor little Sandy was not so lucky she was not old enough for the pill. Sandy got the silly stuff. When we got home we gave Corona her pill, and in 30 minutes or less, NO MORE FLEAS. She did not have any side effects and no longer wines and complains. She is 5 and is acting like a puppy again. Now Sandy is old enough and she got her 1st pill yesterday and today no fleas and no side effects. She looks like a fur ball I combed her checked all over and no fleas. I highly recommend the "Amazing Flea Pill" and the cost is worth the happiness of you loved animal. Regardless of the size of your special family pet this stuff works.. Sandy the puppy is around 4 ½ lbs and Corona 55 lbs NO FLEAS Happy in Houston, Texas.

Seems like a few of the forums have people signing up today and then promoting a product.

Before I would put anything on or inside my dog on a monthly basis, I would do some due diligence to check out any and all adverse effects. Unfortunately, the drug companies want your money and will deal with bad reactions only after they are sued. Seems like the moral compass on some of the various large corporations have been going haywire. Luckily you do have to have a prescription in order to use these products.

housefairy -- I am sometimes suspicious of new posters too, but tanna2day also posted a non-advertising question on the photography forum, so I don't think she's selling anything.

When I had to sit in our vet's waiting room for many hours over the course of five days when our cat had urinary blockage, etc., I saw many people coming in to buy Comfortis and asked some of them about their experiences.

I did internet research and then decided to try it for our two medium-sized dogs. (We had been using Advantage, which worked well too but didn't last through bathing.)

Comfortis works very well to combat fleas. One of our dogs threw up after taking the first pill, but now we are careful to give it after they have eaten a meal.

On the other Comfortis thread there is a story of a tragically bad reaction, but we have not experienced any such problems.

Definitely has to be taken with a meal to prevent vomiting and to last the full month. Otherwise it only lasts maybe 2 weeks.

I still use Frontline Plus for my dogs because 1) ticks are a major concern for me, and Comfortis does not kill ticks and 2) I prefer to not have a pesticide systemically absorbed into my dogs. Yes, I know spinosad is a natural product, but so is arsenic and I wouldn't want my dogs eating that either!

This drug seems to sometimes have a tragic reaction, which probably can be contributed to a sensitivity of certain breeds. Kind of the same bad adverse reaction on certain breeds relating to the heartworm drug. So you want to be an informed consumer and talk over the risks with your vet.

Again, I wouldn't think drugs that the FDA approves for animals have to pass as stringent of test as drugs for humans. Especially if the animal is not being raised to go into the human food chain. For example, what is given to livestock is more closely monitored and regulated than what is being given to your cat or dog.

I am a professional pet groomer and truely believe in using Comfortis.. I also have 9 dogs of my own I use this product on. Always use as instructed by your vet.. Make sure pet takes this pill with food. In my experience, the pill works for 5 weeks. I no longer sell any topical flea products. I send all my customers to the vet of choice for Comfortis. The topicals just cost you nonneeded money woes and fleas seem to be not affected by them (especially here in the South) Comfortis is not for cats..
