Grommet tops

Am I the only one in the world who hates grommet top drapes? Am I living in the past using rings? I just love the how easy the rings make openning and closing the curtains and I like the way they look.

Probably not the only one... LOL!

I personally like them, and we have no trouble opening and closing them.

Why would you HATE a grommet top? What's to hate!

I like grommet tops and prefer them to the rings-and-clips look that is also popular now. The rings and clips drop the fabric below the level of the rod, and you sometimes end up showing too much of the window framing.

I don't hate them but I'm not fond of them. They seem ultra-modern & cold to me and I'm not a fan of modern. Maybe I haven't seen the right one's?

I also don't like them, for the reasons stated above. To me, they look cold and somewhat "industrial", and I don't care for how they cause curtains to drape.

But this is completely and totally a matter of personal taste. Some like cool and sleek, others like warm and fluffy.

Absolutely hate them! I haven't purchased one single panel with them, and talk everyone out of them. Remind me of a shower curtain. Am sure it's all about the cost. ;)

Old thread, but yep, I hate them. They make me think of disposable shower curtains in hospitals.

I love them exactly for the reasons some hate them- modern.

The ones with the tight pleats look very old fashioned to me. Not a fan.

Love them. But I'm one that it doesn't matter how good it looks if it isn't functional for me. Having curtains behind one couch and another set behind my bed it just isn't easy to get to the curtain and close them for me. So I love how much easier it is to open and close them. But I also like the look.

I love grommet tops, have them right now and don't really see the shower curtain trait at all. Maybe it just depends on the fabric. I'm not a fan of heavy drapery and grommets give them a lighter feel. They are also very functional.

On the flip side however, they can be diffiicult to keep clean if you have a cheap rod because the finish can and does rub off on the fabric (Ask me how I know :c()

I’ve always loved the look of rod pocket or hidden back tab drapes for my home, but do like grommet tops, more so than clip and ring, which I don’t like the look of. Clip and ring usually are hung so the window casing or window shows through and I don’t like that effect at all. Grommet tops are actually more costly to make than those with clips and rings, too. Love how easy they are to open and close.
