blue-gray

This is more of a general request-- not for specific paint colors (though any specific suggestions would be welcome too!).

Everything is under construction still and covered in tools and plastic or i would post pics!

Our living room and dining room are connected by double doors that will almost always be open. The kitchen is open to the dining room through a 40-inch-wide pass-through. The apartment has warm exotic hardwood flooring in a mix of colors-- Merbau (it's reclaimed and was so cheap!). The cabinet doors are not yet picked out but the passthrough will have a butcherblock counter on it.

The dining room has lots of sun in the late afternoon/evening. The Living room faces north and gets zero sun. I love warm/cool combinations, pale blue-grays, white whites, and pale yellows.

This is all a very long way of asking: should we paint the NO SUN living room pale yellow and the DIRECT SUN dining room in pale blue-gray? Or should we paint the SUNNY dining room yellow and the DARK-ish living room in blue-gray? Or forget the gray and paint the no-sun room a bright white? (Thinking BM Cotton Balls.)

Long question short: does blue-gray in a sunless room feel dark and gloomy?

THANK YOU GARDENWEB! You have already been so helpful to me.
