Nylon cat collars

Hi, all

I know this might start a whole thing about whether it is wise to keep a collar on a cat, so I welcome it, but that's not my question today.

My indoor-only cat has worn a collar all of her life. I worry about her getting outside without an i.d. tag. It is loose enought for it to slip right off of her head, and she is very used to it, after 11 years of being so adorned.

About a month ago, I decided to try a nylon collar on her. She has always worn a leather one. Same thing, loose enough to slip off in an emergency.

Here is the wierd thing: she stopped talking! She has always been a talkative cat: blah, blah, glad yr home, blah, blah, where's my dinner. All the sudden...she was whispering! He showed no irritation towards the new collar, no change in any habits, except she stopped mouthing off.

I didn't think it was the collar as some other thing, like old age. But the collar got ugly really fast, so I tossed it out and put the leather one back on . Immediately she began yapping again. As soon as it was back on her neck.

Anything to say about this, anyone?
