ICC Code Vent Table

Hi all. I have the 2003 ICC plumbing code book and I am wondering how to interpret Table 916.1, about vent sizes. Where it says "Diameter of Soil or Waste Stack", does that mean (or could it mean) the trap size? For example, I have a 4" branch/main line running under my kitchen floor, parallel with my floor joists. I would like to put a 2" line to serve the kitchen sink's 1 1/2" trap (maybe 2" if they exist, I haven't studied this yet). I will also have a garbage disposal and dishwasher here too. I would like to use 1 1/2" PVC for my vent (that's all that will fit in my wall because of the way the I joists are situated). I have touched on some of this in another post somewhere.

Anyway, in the ICC, if I look at 2" under "Diameter of Soil or Waste Stack", I see that I can go either 75 or 50 feet with a 1 1/2" vent, with 12 or 20 DFU respectively. Should I be looking at the 1 1/2" row/column (because of the trap size)? And I suppose it just wouldn't make any sense to look at the 4" row.

Thanks in advance. Hope to talk to someone soon. :-)
