I live in NE Florida and have a 13 pound poodle who has been on Comfortis about 3 months. I just gave the 3rd dose. We are flea free finally after months of suffering and going through every externally applied remedy on the market. There are side effects to Comfortis, for my dog a little vomiting and lethargy the day after dosing. I don't like using chemicals at all, and have spread out the doses to 5-6 weeks instead of 4. Next time I will cut the pill in half and see if it's still effective.

My garden is organic, so I don't spray outside, but we had such a bad flea infestation, I did finally have the inside done. I am curious about diatomaceous earth, what do you do with it? How do you use it?

For now, I will stick with Comfortis as he was miserable before and it is working. I'm hoping smaller dose and given less often will mitigate the side effects.
