I have both Brookhaven & Wood-Mode cabinets & all my 12" uppers have 11" shelves.

My Brookhaven cabinets are the same...11 inch deep shelves. There's about a finger-width space between the end of the shelf and the frame of the cabinet. I never noticed that until now, and I feel I have plenty of room. Wonder how other brands are? BTW...love my Brookhaven!

The cabinets are gorgeous- the only reason I noticed is because standard shelf paper is 12". My cabinet doors are overlay - not inset. If they were inset then the shelves would have to be 11". What type of doors do you guys have?

Hmmm. Interesting. My 8 yr old Brookhaven shelves are an inch shallower than the cabinet as well. I never noticed this until you pointed it out. My cabinets are framed so the shelves have to be shallower than the frame.

Yours appear to be frameless? Too bad Wood-Mode couldn't have made shelves an inch deeper for the frameless overlay. But, I guess in the big picture an inch is not that big of a deal.

My BH are full overlay, WM cabinets are inset. I also never noticed until I read your post. Let us know if BH is willing to make you 12" shelves. I wouldn't change mine but still would be curious to know if they are willing to do it.

I will report tomorrow after I talk to the cabinet people. The specs are clear as day - they say full depth shelves. I have some oversized plates, chargers etc. All are currently packed - but my concern is they will hang over the edge of the shelves.

My guess is that it will turn into a fight to get the shelves replaced...I imagine I am stuck.

So I talked to my contractor- he has installed Woodmode for 30 years. He said that is the way they make their cabinets. I have just unpacked my first box. Crystal Goblets. Guess how long three glasses lined up next to each other are.... 12 inches.
