My layout #7 please help again

If I told you how many hours it took me to do this you'd laugh at me. I can't seem to create something in Powerpoint because it keeps opening in Excel and then I can't save it to photobucket. If I save it as a web page it doesn't come out right when I open it. I'm also going to try and print it and then take a pic and upload. Now I saved it to my desktop and hope I can drag it into here. Nope... that didn't work. I just want to scream right now. I tried emailing it to myself and that doesn't work, the format doesn't look right. OK, I looked back at what sweeby said and think I now saved it in powerpoint as a pic and uploaded to photobucket. I will do my happy dance if this works.

OK, sorry to say I have to point out some problems:

I sure wouldn't want the sink in a spot with only 6" between it and the dbl oven.

Not sure of the value of a prep sink in that particular location. It's so close to the main sink and not at all close to the fridge or the cooktop.

Does your wall really jog back where you show the cooktop? If so, I think I would keep the front edge of the cabinets even with the others and have a deeper counter around the cooktop...and keep your island all in an even line, and just as deep all the way along. The prep sink should ideally be in that end of the island...in a triangle with the fridge and cooktop, and also available to make salads, etc...Close to the fridge and the island prep counter. Would also offer water for the table, handwashing for people coming into the the kitchen, etc.

Anyone setting the table may cross the cooking zone to go back and forth with dishes to the table...You'd have to train them to go around the island instead of past the stove, which should work.

Can you lengthen the 5 ft wall where the fridge is to fit the dbl oven?

Oh... I meant a prep area not prep sink and please don't be sorry about anything. I'm have blisters on my feet from doing my happy dance that I got the darn thing posted!
    1. Good point about the corner ovens. I just like the look and was trying it. Actually, the wall where the frig is now is currently longer. Right now there is a pantry there that I wanted my DH to take out because I love an open look. I thought it that by taking out the panty would give a straight open view all the way through. My DH would love you for recommending to leave it.
    2. Yes, the wall jogs back and behind it is the old laundry room/pantry to be. The water heater is also in there. Now the range sits there. The jog is 18" in but 4" is a little "layer" on the wall face that he said he could take out. The width of the face of that piece of wall is 11".
    3. I would prefer an even look but didnt' know if base cabs came in sizes deep enough to compensate for the extra inches. I was going to try and use IKEA cabs wherever possible and probably Scheers doors. I could get some Scheers bases because I believe they do custom sizes.
    4. It's just going to be 2 of us in that house and I"m the primary cook. DH does clean up alot.

We are going down to the house and I'll take some photos. THANKS!

quick comment...I think you need approximately 4' (48") on each wall to put your ovens in a corner...Alku05 did this and I think that's what she said.

I gave corner ovens a shot but it seems like it won't be all that practical. Thanks buehl... helpful info.

To have a deeper counter you don't use deeper base cabinets, but just install them out from the wall and use a cleat or something to support the deeper counter back at the wall.

We didn't want to pay the upcharge to get 15" deep base cabinets for the laundry, so we got 12" deep cabinets and just put 2x4s behind them to build them out about 3-1/2". Then you just order the countertop depth you want.

I took some pictures of the house and the areas I've been trying to draw/explain. Today DH very briefly helped me measure a couple of places and i found I was off by 6" in one area and 1 1/2" somewhere else so I'm frustrated. I know I was going to need an architect for the bedroom/bathroom extension but thought I could get away with not needing one for this. I don't know if that's true or not yet; though I"m feeling pretty discouraged right now... and I haven't even started anything yet! Don't know if I'll have the stamina for this project.

Here is a link that might be useful: some pics might make more sense then me

I tweaked it and posted pics above. Maybe that will help you all see it better.
    Thanks.
