Kitchen TV

We didn't have anywhere to put the TV on the counters. I really like watching "my shows" while cooking and cleaning. Also, having the TV on seems to keep my family lingering in the kitchen longer (with me!) which I like.

We had the TV installed today. They are coming back Monday to center it and put. The wired behind the TV. What do you think of my solution?

Maybe it's me, but I don't understand the picture you have posted. It appears as though you've mounted this thing in the middle of your kitchen, hanging from the ceiling?

What's up with the can lights on the floor, and the outdoor walkway stem-lights on your floor?

I've never quite seen a kitchen like that. :/

I will take a picture in the morning. I took this with my iPad. The TV is mounted above the door to the pantry across from the island. There aren't lights on the floor. I think it is harder to see than I thought because I know how it really looks. My kitchen is pretty normal and traditional.

Here is where I got the idea.

Uhmm, you apparently posted the picture upside-down, that's why there are lights on your "floor".

I do love the picture you posted that isn't your kitchen though!

Can you please post a picture of the inside of your pantry? I'd love to see that, am contemplating what to do with mine.

Hey, we did the exact same thing w/ the TV above the pantry :)

Beautiful kitchen Beagles. I really like the idea and I am looking forward to using it.

Is my picture upside down? It isn't upside down on my monitor.

Yes, your picture is displaying upside down.

I think it's a great solution and blends in well. Besides, anything is worth it if keeps the family in the kitchen with you to help with cleanup! :))

We also put a tv in the kitchen...in the cabinet with nesting doors above the fridge...we figured it's too hard to reach things there anyway, and this way I can hide it when we have co. and don't want to see it....

Thank you, Anita. I totally agree. I am giving it all I can to keep the family together instead of in separate areas. Almost every furniture and decorating move I make has that agenda in mind. It is unlikely that they will help me with cleanup because they seem content to watch me do it. I am lucky that way--haha.

Annie, I saw pictures of that on Houzz when I was looking for a picture to show my idea here. I think it looks great. I almost regretted my solution but I use that space. It is where I keep my alcohol and some days I think it is VERY good that it isn't easily accessible.

I will take a picture in the daylight in a few hours. It is raining here so it might have to wait . Also, I will snap a picture of my pantry. I am not sure what you are looking for Grammy but I will show you what I have.

It's a good solution, but I think I would try to run those wires through the pantry so you can't see them.

We ran the wires through our pantry so you cannot see them. The very top shelf of our pantry (we have 10 inch ceilings so you can't really see it or reach it) is a narrow shelf that has a cable box and roku. There's an IR blaster to allow for remote control.

Thank you! The wires will be fixed Monday. Also, it is a little off center. That will be fixed also. Running the wires to the pantry is a great solution.

I am not sure why my picture is posting upside down. Fun2B, that picture is upside down for me now. I LOL at how Gramma saw it!

Here is the picture w/o lights and hopefully upside right.

    BRB with the pantry photo.

Ok, Gramma, here it is. The organizer is closetmaid. I am sure many GWers have more beautiful pantries but this is functional and works for me. Probably too many trans fats too.

    Hope it helps.

Well, I can see your pictures right side up, Faux, but all of fun's are upside down! This happened with one of mine once. I think it is a GW glitch.

As to your question, I think the tv would be fine there. I wish I had a pantry, so I could do the same thing!

Fun2BeHere - it was sweet of you to fix the pictures, appreciate that very much. :)
