Blue Ceilings

Does anyone have any photos of blue ceilings? I am painting mine pale blue and just wondered if there were some photos I could use for inspiration.

Thanks so much

Our blue ceiling is probably not pale enough for you, but I wanted something stronger to hold up against the dark floor and to set off the rest of the colors. I love color and the ceilings are frequently the forgotten "5th wall".

We are painting all of our ceilings and exterior soffits SW Impressionist Blue. It's such a Southern thing to have blue ceilings. I love them.

Our ceilings in our Garden District house were all painted with Ellen Kennon's Gustavian Grey which read a nice grey blue in our downstairs.

we painted our last kitchen's ceiling robin's egg blue and painted the cabinets cream to get through a few years until the remodel, but now it's gone... It was lovely, though. I wish I had a porch - I'd paint the ceiling of a porch blue in a second.

The first thing I thought of are the wonderful blue ceilings on the big front porches in Charleston. Something about keeping away haints and evil spirits.

I loved those blue ceilings - really refreshing and relaxing.

Not my house, but looks like a nice spot to hang out:

Not a whole lot could be dreamier than a blue porch ceiling, huh?

I do! Cumulus Cotton from BM (it's actually a tad paler in person):

I didn't do a blue ceiling in my kitchen, but I've done a pale blue in a lot of other rooms. My hallway/stairwell is a warm tan color but the ceiling is a light blue with a hint of green. I really love the spark of color against the tan.

My bedroom walls are a medium aqua color and the ceiling is from the same paint strip but the lightest color. I love waking up and looking at it every morning.

The hallway ceiling and the bedroom ceiling are actually the same color blue although they look different because of the wall color and lighting. The color I used was Bouyant Blue by SW.

I debated a lot on doing a light blue in the kitchen and didn't but it still might change.

Here's another shot of the gorgeous blue ceiling in hollyhl's kit chen:

Oops, that came out rather tiny but copying the photo from a different photobucket page came out HUGE. Oh, well, you get the idea. If you follow the link to hollylh's photobucket page from her entry in the FKB, you can see more of her kit chen and its blue ceiling .

it's funny, i'm somewhat hesitant to use blue on walls ...unless it's the PERFECT blue: pale, with a hint of green or gray. somewhat muddy. that's it for me. that said, i'm trying to decide where to inject a bit of blue on my ceilings without going crazy. i really love a pale blue ceiling.

Took a quick snap of my BM Fantasy Blue ceiling today. Still need to repaint the trim, try to ignore the cream.

BM Palladian Blue! One large dollop per gallon of matte white paint, and it's the perfect ceiling blue. My mudroom:

Willowdecor, your post reminded me that I would love to paint my DR ceiling a pale blue. But I also would like to add box beams painted white. (trouble making up my mind? yeah, how'd you guess?)

So I thought, maybe I can combine the two? Is this totally crazy? Maybe, maybe not.

I posted this query on the Home Decorating forum (see link) but thought I'd add it to this thread just in case someone here has seen a colored ceiling paired with white box beams.
