Which current-type exercise swim pool?

I am looking into getting one of the exercise swim pools, the ones with the variable speed current. The only one I am really familiar with is The Endless Pool. As well as silver/copper, it also uses chlorine. I think a salt water system would be healthier. My priorities are 1) reliability: sound construction that is not going to give me problems in a few years 2) would like a system that doesn't require continual purchase of accessory/replacement parts 3) don't necessarily need top of the line if less expensive will work.

What do you all recommend/like, and why? Thanks for any input!

I'll be putting this in an inside atrium/greenhouse structure in s. Arizona.

@gurldog if I can jump in, the main difference between the mechanisms seems to be that the endless pools use a propeller system and swimex uses paddle wheels. There might be other reasons why swimex might seem better too. swimex is pricey though— I got a quote for approx $75k to install one of their smaller units last year. We have since upgraded to a larger backyard where we could fit a long gunite (concrete) lap pool, so we are debating between that and a swim spa. One thing going for a gunite pool is that you can design it any way you want, and some can be very beautiful in addition to functional. On the other hand, they use a lot more water than a swim spa, which is a concern in our area. Good luck! If you do decide to get a swim spa, I’d love to hear what you end up going with!

I dont have years and years of experience with what I refer to as "swim spas", but what research I have done I came to the conclusion that HydroPools (made in canada) is an exceptional product. I personally have one of their spas and have installed their swim spas as well. All the clients with both the spa line or the swim spa line love them.

Swimex is by far the best. It is also going to be the most expensive.

There is a ton of exercises you can do in a regular pool!
Besides swimming/laps you can do allmost every exercise
on land in the pool.More resistance and less impact or
shock/wear on your joints.I have rubberbands of different resis-
tance that I do a complete routeine in the pool,exercising
upper body as good as you can do with weights....
Can wait for spring to get into great shape...
Arobics are better in the water too.

You only have to keep up with the evaporation rate if you get a pool water truck for the initial fill. An automatic retracting cover for your gunite pool would minimize evaporation. Heating the pool would be more of a resources concern than water, I think, especially if you live in a short summer climate. For ease of heating, a swim spa outshines the regular lap pool. If you are an avid lap swimmer, though, no swim spa compares to a lap pool by way of the overall experience.
