Something wrong with my cat

So, here's the problem. It started about three days ago, my cat (male, one year old) stopped eating and drinking.

He seems very weak and he's shaking, he's still able to move around but isn't strong enough to jump or run. I can't get him to injest anything, he just seems uninterested and wants to lie down.

My suspicions are that it's either some kind of flu or

has something to do with the intestinal tract (like a bacterial infection or worms).

One other cat has also started to show the same symptoms.

I plan on calling a vet firs thing tommorow but it might be to late.

Any thoughts?

My first thought is that this is a troll and bogus post.

Get the cat to the vet ASAP!

They could have swallowed something poisonous.

I would find a 24 hour emergency pet hospital and get there immediately.

Your cat has been in this sort of critical condition for three days and you're just now considering calling the vet tomorrow? Yes, you do sound like the sort of troll who stops by this forum to try to raise a ruckus every now and then. On the chance that this is a legitimate post, though, and assuming you actually want to try to save this cat and the other one who is showing similar symptoms, you should get them to an emergency vet TONIGHT.

I didn't know he was in this condition until last night, I work and go to school so I didn't even see him in those few days. My mother told me he was sick.

I live in a rural area. Out here animals basically run around freely. We have three dogs and five cats. They're all outside, they only come in to eat or drink and sometimes they sleep inside.

This sort of thing has never happened before here. So this is to lay your doubts about this being a bogus post down.

But nevermind. We'll handle the situation.

Since you obviously didn't know, ANY time ANY animal doesn't eat or drink in 24 hours, it is ALWAYS an emergency. ALWAYS. There is no need to ask about it on the internet where nobody can help your animal, even the vets, 48 hours after it becomes an emergency.

Sion, I just read your post. How are your sick kittens doing? I really hope you got to take them to a vet right away before they got worse. Hope they were vaccinated for distemper. Symptoms you described made me think of that, but of course, it could be many other things, and something less serious. At any rate, they need to be seen by a vet... Please let us know, and do try to isolate your other 3 cats from them, although it probably is too late..

Letting cats run wild outdoors, is cruel to wildlife, to people and to the cats themselves, I've seen 2 dead killed cats BOTH hit by cars- guess what... animal control takes them away to the rendering plants probably,

    friskies anyone?.

Having 3 dogs and 5 cats, unless you have a giant budget or house, you sound way over your head and seriously need to think of finding better homes, or changing how you care for the animals, cats get into fights, get diseases and bother people sometimes so they trap them, to sell to labs, shoot them, ect.
