How about one that hangs on the wall? Those you can get them super small. Signature Hardware has lots of them. They do also have several mini pedestals.

Thanks for the links and ideas! Now one more question...how does a buyer know if the pedestal *stand* is open in the back all the way to the floor? Our plumber is kinda lazy and doesn't want to deal with square holes in the back of the stand; he likes it open all the way down. I'm wondering: if the stand is open in back all the way down (like some hospital gown!) will it be enough "base" to support the sink lav and faucets...and water flow?

You would have to call and ask about the pedestal back to be absolutely certain. However, most of them are open in the back. The closed ones generally will have that as part of the description.

The open back will provide plenty of support, even for a large, heavy sink.
