how big is her tank? doing launcry, bathing, washing dishes, etc should refill a 1000 gallon in a few days to 2 weeks at most for a single person.

but here is the thing, the LID is above the water line so there will always be a little gas there. is the lid underground? if so, then maybe the dirt just has not recompacted over it yet.

the only time you should smell sewer gas from a septic system is if there is a problem. then you smell it around the field.

also, are their any roof vents nearby? maybe the wind (or lack of) is causing the gas to settle in that area from a roof vent. our old house had one spot in the yard you could smell sewage on a windless day. it was because of placment of a vent on the roof, the gas just collected in teh dead area and stunk up around it. even a mild breeze was enough to displace the gas and eliminate smells.

The lid is above ground.

I dont think it is a roof vent....the smell only presented itself after she had her tank emptied.

Not sure the size of the tank, but I agree with you, the tank should have refilled by now.

That's the thing, it doesnt seem to smell around the fields....only near the lids...
she is gonna call the septic guy again this week and see what he says.
