you can't go wrong with the Dolphin. plan on spending $700.00+, but worth it. i put mine in, in the morning a couple times a week and floor, steps, wall are spotless. a little skimming with the net in between vacuuming keeps water crystal clear.

I second the Dolphin. We love it - our pool has never been so clean! I wish they made a "small" Dolphin for the spa!

For the money, the Polaris is a great bet. If you have a dedicated booster pump for such things as a pool vac, the Polaris 380 would be your choice, if you just have a standard poopl pump with a side wall outlet, the Polaris 360 is the choice. I was sold on this brand after watching one in a buddy's pool zip around the bottom of his pool, vacuuming the entire floor and rolling up the walls, in no time flat. I found a Polaris 360, slightly used on ebay, for less than $200. it works great. The 380 will run about $500 new, the 360 will run about $400 new. New ones sell on ebay for about $300 and $400 resectively.

Thanks for the replies

I also have the dolphin and really love it, very quiet, just throw it in and it does the job in about 1.5 hours.
