What an amazingly great day. (70 degrees and sunny in the DC area!) Drove 1 1/2 hours to the granite warehouse to pick out the granite for the kitchen. We knew going in that our top 3 choices were:

1. Mascarello

2. Juparana Arandis

3. Lapidus

We were able to see all 3 slabs and could not decide between Mascarello and Juparana. After much back and forth in the warehouse with cabinet, floor and paint we decided on the Mascarello. The colors matched the cabinets and floor perfectly. We did not know the price of the Mascarello at the time, but we had pre-paid for the Juparana and knew that it was $75/sqft and we needed 68 sqft.

We stopped at the installers on the way home to find out what the price difference would be for the Mascarello. We found out that the Mascarello was $125/sqft and would increase the overall price by almost 4K. Ouch!

I knew then that the Juparana would be the slab for us!! Not enough room in the budget for the more expensive, albeit beautiful Mascarello. I will love the Juparana when it is installed next week!! :-)
