Today, 8 1/2 Months Later.

Hello Everyone,

Today, in Huntington Beach, about a half mile from the ocean it was about 88 degrees farenheit in my backyard. The pool heater was on from the weekend and is a cozy 88 degrees. Love it!

It has been about ten months since we completed our pool, and so far, so good! Does anyone remember back in August when I introduced our newest swimmer? Well, here is a picture of both of my kids less than 9 months later.... how FAST they grow! My son is 3 1/2 and my daughter will be nine months in 6 days. Oh, and the landscaping is filling in nicely as well!

My sons blue lips are from the finger ring obtained at the "Dog Parade" we attended earlier in the day! Really, the water was nice and warm!

Anyway, I thought I would say hello to everyone and wish you all a happy, healthy and safe swimming season!

My Best Regards,

Mike

What a wonderful family... growing so quickly. I remember seeing a picture your daughter when she was first born. TIME SURE DOES FLY!

We got up to 82 with solar up here in Nor Cal. Congrats on such a beautiful family - here's to a safe and joyful summer!

Time sure does fly! Wow! I can't believe how big your kids have gotten. Where does the time go?? I was thinking it was only a few weeks ago that she was born...

Wanna know what's nuts? We are having a pool party for my daughter's birthday this weekend. We did the same exact thing a year ago. It seems like just a couple of months ago - in fact, I still haven't put away some of the stuff we used for the party last year - the drink tub is still on the floor of the garage, chairs still stacked in the side yard, and I still have intact goody bags left over that I may even reuse. Talk about Deja vu.

Your kids are soooo cute! The baby is growing so fast!

We've already had 3 pool parties and another one planned this weekend for Mother's Day. I haven't even been able to put the Margaritaville FCM away! We've been using kegs from BJ's Brewery in the kegerator and we're going through so many that I'm a little embarassed to keep going in for new ones. I don't want them to think we're drinking it all ourselves. ;-)

Beautiful weather, beautiful pool, beautiful family. You got a good life, huh? Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Thanks Everyone for your kind comments. We are truly blessed and I thank God everyday for my good fortune and wonderful life. My kids are big, my son finally dropped below the 100% average, and my daughter is at 90% and is actually smaller than my son at the same age. But I guess Mom and Dad are pretty tall, I'm 6'3" and my lovely wife is 5'8".

Snookums, I remember the pictures you shared from your daughters party last year. Time does fly by! When I get home from work on Firday, I'll be taking the net off the pool for the weekend to enjoy it again for a great Mother's Day!

Skinny Dipper, don't be embarassed, just invite me! I wish I had the room in my island for a Kegerator! LOL.

Thanks again All! For all the mothers out there, Happy Mothers Day!

    Regards,

    Mike

Wow, I remember the picture of your son with his naked little butt; he looked like a baby then and now he looks very much like the "big brother."

We finally got our pool done and although it's getting hot, our pool temp doesn't go pass 70 degrees! We live on a hill and get a lot of breeze. It was nice before we had the pool but now we just want warm water. By the way, we used to live in H.B. (Adams/Brookhurst) and now we're in Yorba Linda.

How long does it take and how costly is it to heat up your pool? We've been wanting to heat up our pool but don't know how long it'll take so we can plan in advance. Our pool is about 17,000 gal 3 1/2 to 6 feet deep with mini pebble surface. We've been heating up and using the spa but haven't gotten our first gas bill yet.

    xnightowl,

"The Naked Butt," picture is one of our favorites! It brings a smile to my face and I'm looking forward to, years and years from now, showing it off to his dates.

We are closer to Brookhurst and Banning(The last light before PCH),so we are only a couple of miles from where you used ot live. I have a friend who lives in the neighborhood behind the north-east corner of Brookhurst and Adams.

Our pool is probably in the low seventies on most days now, but it is a full southern exposure and is exposed to the sun all day long. Because our pool is so small, probably 10 - 12 thousand gallons, it only takes a couple of hours to heat to the mid 80's, and another hour or so to reach 90. Remembering from last year, I don't think our most expensive gas bill ever went over $120.00 or so. And since we used to have an older pool with old equipment, everthing seems to be much more efficient!

Our electric bill on the other hand is really expensive. We don't have air conditioning, just ceiling fans, and our bill is regularly 300.00 a month. OUCH!

Have a great summer and enoy your pool,

    Mike

Thanks Mike. It's more doable than I thought. The pool looks so big I was thinking a full day or two. I'll definitely turn it on early tommorow morning for our Mother's Day gathering. Hopefully it'll warm up at least a few degrees by noon. The water was 72F today and my husband and 7 year old son swam in it for about half hour then they jumped in the spa.

By the way, when my sons were at that age, they loved to run around the house naked also--too bad I lost my chance to take those pictures.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend with your family.

    Thanks
