Need feedback about dining chairs...

I have a farmhouse dining table and I am trying to decide whether to paint my current (1985 Ethan Allen) chairs white and have new chair cushions made or scrap these chairs and buy new ones. Currently, the chairs look Early American. The chairs are quite sturdy but the cost of painting as well as having a cushion made will run about $225 per chair ... maybe more. I have attached pictures of chair, paint color, and fabric. Does anyone out there have a similar experience? I have been driving my DH nuts trying to make this decision!! Help!

I don't have a similar experience but I personally love the idea. Finding quality furniture is SO difficult. Not to mention the unique look that you want...

I love your fabric! It reminds me of the pillow link below - I've been eying this for awhile - I like the little details along the side of the stripe which reminds me of your fabric;)

Get out the chalk paint! Really, you can do this yourself. There's very little painting prep involved. Do some GW and online searches to rev up!

I think I will go ahead with painting the chairs. If they turn out okay, I will get the fabric and have some cushions made.
