this sounds like a fair price to me. The stainless poles are expensive. We paid more than this for our volleyball set 2 years ago with stainless poles and brass anchors. The set we have also has one pole that has a backboard and rim attached for basketball. When conveting to basketball, simply remove the other volleyball pole a turn the basketball pole 180 degrees and the volleyball court now becomes a basketball court.

Thanks for the info. Do you mind giving me the name of your set. I have been looking on line for a 2 in 1 volleyball and basketball set but they all seem to be very high, over $500 or $600.

yeah...I copied a basketball/volleyball combo design that SR Smith sells. I had to modify the poles for the water depths of our pool to place the net at the right heights relative to the water. After I provided the pole dimensions, to SR Smith, they manufactured them accordingly. The poles were about $400 and I bought the backboard and rim from Wal-Mart for $50 and one of their volleyball nets for $15 then modified it to fit our 12 feet wide volleyball court.

I think you can buy SR Smith's standard combo system for less money, but I had to have a custom design due to the poles being in different depths of the pool.

Anyone ever make one out of PVC and a standard volleyball net? Thought about doing that, but haven't yet. Would love some feedback on it. Found a nice net for a good price (12.99), but it is much wider than my pool. Anyone ever modify the net? Easy enough to do? Or better to get something that is a better this (the one for 12.99 is a 32 foot net, pool is about 18 feet where the pole sleeves are located)?

I looked into building one out of PVC but I think it would break pretty easy if the kids were jumping on it. The net might be hard to cut also. I guess I will go ahead and get the set from the PB. It was just major sticker shock.
